If you read one of my previous posts about how great smart playlists with ratings can be, you might find this tip useful.

I love having a top rated and a five star playlist, I can just click the playlist and I know that only great jams are going to play. The only problem with this is that only about 5-10% of my library has been rated. I never have the time to do it, so how do I solve this first world dilemma?

I was asked to explain this to someone recently, and decided to post it here.

In my opinion when people think of PCs, they think of frustrating experiences, viruses, blue screens of death, etc. When people think of Macs they either think of glossy shiny things that work well, or if they love PCs, they roll their eyes.

I normally don't post youtube videos, but one of my co-workers who goes by the alias DanceBuffet, made this video for a contest held by the New Pornographers, and it won! Today it was featured on the home page of youtube, and it's pretty unbelievable.

I like a lot of people, find myself hanging on to certain ways to do things when it comes to technology. Traditionaly, if you wanted to take a photo you got a camera, ic you wanted to make website you learned HTML. If you needed a contact manager you would get a PDA. Not that the iPhone isthe best thing ever, but I think its only the beginning of an exciting era. It is a device that on its own is so limited, but by leveraging lightweght web apps, you can snap a pcture, and have it uploaded immediately to flickr, and if you happen to have a wordpress or drupal blog, it can end upthere too.

Tonight I experienced the phenomenon known as whirlyball. Which is essentially lacrosse with a wiffleball and bumpercars. Enough said.

Recently, I moved into a new apartment, and while the place looked nice when we signed the lease, there are several things I wish I had looked at more carefully before inking the paper. Luckily things are working out some weeks later, but doing these things would have saved a lot of money frustration and time if we looked into them more carefully. Here is my list:

I am a big Smashing Pumpkins fan, and when I saw that you could preorder the new album on iTunes, I immediately signed up. I'm listening to it right now for the first time, and wanted to check something about it on the iTunes store, so I clicked the store link next to one of the track names and got an interesting error message (pictured above). Zeitgeist (Bonus Track Version) will be available in the store on July 09, 2038.
