Best album I've heard in a while.

Recently I decided to see what it would be like to listen to every album by some of my long time favorite bands in chronological order. For no particular reason other then to see what it would be like.

I normally don't post youtube videos, but one of my co-workers who goes by the alias DanceBuffet, made this video for a contest held by the New Pornographers, and it won! Today it was featured on the home page of youtube, and it's pretty unbelievable.

I am a big Smashing Pumpkins fan, and when I saw that you could preorder the new album on iTunes, I immediately signed up. I'm listening to it right now for the first time, and wanted to check something about it on the iTunes store, so I clicked the store link next to one of the track names and got an interesting error message (pictured above). Zeitgeist (Bonus Track Version) will be available in the store on July 09, 2038.

About seven years ago I was doing a lot of home recording on a PC with a breakout recording interface. Around that time I purchased a pair of AKG K-240 Monitor headphones, which worked well with my powered interface. I remember that the music sounded good, but in the age of iPods, MP3s, and earbuds, I too was guilty of sacrificing quality for portability.

I was going through some old boxes yesterday, and found them again. I immediately plugged them in to make sure they still worked. Did they ever.
