A McDonalds Every 26.6 Miles

Still no regular internet access, hence lack of blog updates. Here's an interesting tidbit though:

Recently I drove about 850 miles along mostly interstate highways from the Buffalo, NY region to the Atlanta, GA region of the U.S. along the way I counted how many McDonalds there were within 0-2 miles from each exit. It totaled 32. That averages out to a readily available hamburger every 26.6 miles. I posted these on Twitter as I drove by, so later on I can go back and look at the time stamps and see how close together the intervals were. Obviously there were more McDonalds closer together the closer I was to a city.

The length of a marathon is 26.2 miles. Coincidence?
