Drupal 6 Beta Released!
The first beta version of Drupal 6.0 has been released! Drupal is an extremely powerful, flexible, and moderately easy to use content management system for developing websites and web applications.
Version 6 offers a slew of new features including:
- A slicker installer
- Improved language support (as in languages people speak, not computer languages!)
- OpenID support
- Actions and triggers
- A rewritten menu system (for efficiency)
- A more flexible and easier themeing system
- Book and forum changes
There are a lot of other less noticeable features such as a password strength checker, aggregated javascript files and more.
Drupal is the platform I primarily build websites in, and is an excellent choice to use for someone who builds a lot of sites which require a rapid development cycle, and whose sites require similar functionality.
Version 6 adds a lot of 'under the hood' improvements which extend the functionality of core through the roof, I'm psyched to play with the beta as the last build I tested was about a month ago. To everyone who helped on it: Great Job!
